Nailtini Was Pretty in Pink at New York Fashion Week

We are still jumping for joy at the opportunity we had to participate in fashion designer Naomi Spindel’s Ready-To-Wear Spring 2014 show at New York Fashion Week.

Truly talented,  fashion up-and-comer Naomi Spindel honed her flare for fashion while working for designers such as Alexander Wang, Oscar de la Renta and Proenza Schouler to name a few. For her premiere show at Fashion Week she debuted a fun, and glamorous 10-look collection featuring  hot shorts, wrap tops and slipdresses in rich fabrics and stunning feminine shades.

Going with the glam feel of the show, renowned Manicurist Omary Gonell used Nailtini in Blushing Lady and Grenadine to create some equally as stunning nail looks which paired perfectly with the designer’s vision.

The final look was jaw-droppingly gorgeous! ImageImage

Nail the caviar mani with tips from ‘Tini Beauty Bar Master/Founder, Michelle Toma Olson:

  • Have the beads ready for application with jar open.
  • Place your hand on top of a clean paper plate.
  • After applying a base coat and/or your chosen polish, liberally douse your nails with the micro beads. Sprinkle the beads over your nail(s) until they are completely covered.
  • Use the residual beads that fall off the nails for your second hand, or pour the rest back into the jar.
  • Carefully press down on each nail to ensure the caviar beads stick to the nail polish. Make sure you use a clean dry finger pad when pushing beads into the nail polish.
  • When nails are completely dry, add one coat of top coat nail to seal your nails.

Glitter and Stains Be Gone! Removing Stains and Glitter from Nails

ImageWhat goes on nails,  eventually must come off. Removing dark shades can be tricky. Here are some tips from a member of ‘Tini Beauty’s Bar Staff, Celebrity Manicurist Elsbeth Schuetz.

Image

Never remove dark polish using a circular motion. It is best to press remover-soaked cotton square onto the nail plate. Press down for 5 seconds then press and pull in one direction out towards free edge (tip of the finger). Repeat if necessary.

Keep nails pristine with Club Soda Fizz from Nailtini, a unique Nail Whitening Soak that can be used to remove stains caused by tanning sprays, dark polishes, etc. It brightens, whitens and transforms nails into a clean canvas just begging to be painted. This is a great way to start over after wearing dark colors, or to prep for a French or pale colored manicure. Just pour two capfuls of the lime-scented powder into a bowl of water (more in a tub for toes) and fizz away stains and discolorations.

Use the smoothest side of your file to buff away tough stains then condition nail plate with Hot Buttered Rum Hand & Foot Cream. Massage a tiny amount of cream into each nail plate/bed.

To remove stubborn glitter, put one of our Nailtini Cocktail Napkins on each of your nails and wrap in foil. Leave on for at least 5 minutes, remove the foil, and use the cocktail napkin to remove the polish/glitter. Little pieces of felt soaked in nail polish remover are also great for removing glitter polishes.

Summer 2013 Nail Trends For All Ages

Summer nails are all about saturated color.  Here’s how to wear if you’re in your:

20s

Image

Ipsy’s shout-out to Pantone inspired us to create this nail cocktail using tahiti breeze plus admiral perry & blue carnation as garnish…cheers to serving the shades of the season!

The sky’s the limit for youthful nails and toes.  Go with the hottest hues of the season – blues, greens, turquoises – for both.  Better yet, combine them all in ultra-hip ombre, marbleized or striped manicure looks.  Our pick:  Nailtini Straight Up Nail Lacquer in Tahiti Breeze.

30sImage

Watermelon pink says serious summer style, especially garnished with contrasting stripes on an accent nail.  Just the perfect amount of style and flair, whether office hours or happy hour.  Our pick:  Nailtini Straight Up Color in Madras, accented with Classic Rita, Parfait Amour and Tahiti Breeze stripes.

40s

You can still rock the trends, but best to limit the edgiest ones to toes and keep it simple on hands.  Get your bright on with an eye-catching yet classy tangerine hue like Nailtini Straight Up Nail Lacquer in Mai Tai, garnished with a gilded ombre Millionaire accent nail to catch the sunlight

50s & beyond

Image

Vibrant colors with too much red can make hands look ruddy and bring out imperfections, so stick with yellower or bluer tones when choosing polish.  A sherbet-y peach like Nailtini Peach Puree is gorgeous on demure squoval nails, especially accented with a “bubble” of Pina Colada shimmer.
